MORE of you, LESS of me.

So, I have come to the conclusion maybe I shouldn't have started this blog because I am terrible at keeping it up. I had so many ideas of what I would write about, but recently, I have not had time or just have not felt like it. Life is super crazy and very up and down, but I'm going to attempt this again. I make no promises.... Anyways, so, here are a few of my thoughts as of late...

Casting Crowns has been one of my favorite Christian artists since forever. And in one of their songs it says this, "Lord, I pray, that they will see more of you and less of me..."  MORE of you and LESS of me. Seriously, just sit back and think of that for a second. I feel like so many times as Christians, me included, we get so caught up in what we are doing for Christ and how we are living for Christ, that we forget this isn't about us. The gospel and ministry is actully, the complete opposite of that...

Our purpose is to point others to Christ, to show them the Love of God, and if what we are doing points more to ourselves than to Christ, we are doing something horribly wrong. I can do a million things for Jesus, but if all it does is bring attention and glory to myself instead of Him than it was all in vain. If you don't know me, you really aren't missing out on much, but if you don't know my Saviour, you are missing out on everything!

My greatest desire is to lead others to Jesus, and I pray that I don't allow MYSELF to get in the way of that. I hope that somehow God can use my life to direct others to Christ, if someone, through my witness comes to know Christ, My life will be complete. I want others to see Christ through me, but who am I? I don't deserve to know Jesus as a personal friend, let alone be able to introduce him to others. But 2000 years ago, hanging on a cross, he chose ME! He chose YOU! And now we can know him and we can share him with others. I feel so undeserving, so unworthy.

We know the answer to all of life's problems, we hold the key to true happiness, there is nothing greater in this life than knowing Jesus Christ, so we MUST share this with others, and we cannot afford to let OURSELVES get in the way of that. Lord, help me to step aside, so that others can see you. I want my life to glorify Jesus in such a way, that when others see me they cannot help, but see HIM. Everyday, I pray that God will use me, somehow, some way, not for myself, but FOR HIM! My greatest goal is to glorify him in every possible way.

I will probably never be rich or famous and I doubt I'll ever own a huge fancy home or drive the fastest car, I, also, will most likely never invent something great or find the cure for cancer, and that is all okay by me, as long as something I say or do can lead someone to Jesus, because in that case, I will have accomplished so much more than any of those things.

"Lord, I pray that they will see MORE of you and LESS of me."
